Back in the mid 70's when I was in high school and then later college I can't recall noticing any guys in the lockerroom who either shaved or trim thier bush. Most guys including mysef had what I guess would classify as an overgrown bush. Ocassionally you would see a guy what would be called an amazon jungle growing down there. When I was growing up pubic hair represented a sign of masculinity. Late bloomers or guys with little hair would often be the but of jokes. In fact guys with alot of hair were envied.
Now thanks to mainstream porn guys with a slightly over grown bush seems to be the minority. This one guy was in the lockerroom who around my age stripped down and headed towards showers. I wouldn't classify him as being jungle like down there but it was obvious he did not trim. Two other guys were down there at the same time I would say in there late teens apparently saw him and I heard the guy remark to the other "dude that's gross!" To which the other responded he need to take a weedwacker to that thing.Maybe it because I come from the 70's porn bush generation but I can assure you he had nothing more than what I was use to seeing growing up and changing in lockerroom. It seems the attitude of having a natural bush has changed over the years. Now I even see guys my age trimming down to next to nothing or shaving completely. Personally I don't like the look it's too prepubescent. I didn't wait 12 years for hair just to shave it off.
Now having an unkempt bush is seen as unclean, dirty, undisired, or a turn off. Has anyone else here notice a change in the appearence or attutude in lockerroom from when you were growing up vs now?

I graduated from high school in 1988 at the tail end of the pubic hair heyday. Actually, judging from magazines like Playboy and Penthouse, centerfolds with huge shaggy triangles had begun to wane out a year or two earlier. I recall being in lust with a couple of "shaggies" and was, in fact, a little disapointed that women took to the razor with such a vengance. Perhaps I was a throwback to another era, but a traditionally feminine and beautiful woman with WITH bush were a bonus to me; something you knew grew on a woman's body there but excited to see at the same time.

I gotta agree with you--shaving is completely out of the question and can be dangerous with a regular razor. Trimming is MEGA KEWL in more ways than one, especially in the hot months of summer.

I've been shaving my scrotum and perineum for years with just a regular razor. I really like the smooth feel and in this hot weather is a lot less itchy. I've never found anything dangerous about it. I have to agree not to shave your pubes though. Not because of any dangerous possibilities with doing it but because you get painful ingrown hairs and the stubble doesn't feel so great either. The same goes for shaving your chest. Uhhh...ask me how I know. B)

I shave. I shave everywhere. But cos the razor is now blunt it doesnt shave too good. Recently the ex was laughin at me for bein 'bald' down there. This is just before I dumped her. I said 'so you wanna get impregnated by a stray pubic hair?' :p

I like to shave now its better than a huge bush...At school everyone had a bush.

Seems like a fad to me. There are still plenty of people of both sexes that prefer a natural bush, especially because it's more rare.

I shave the shaft and trim the rest.

I grew up when shaving or trimming pubic hair was unheard-of in males. I had a medium amount of hair, but it was extremely straight and prone to grow long. I once found a single hair that was 7.5 inches long! I'm uncut, and I always had problems with scrotal hairs getting caught under my foreskin as I went through cycles of semis through the day. Sometimes, I'd have to go to the restroom at work because my foreskin was pulling hair. My briefs also pulled scrotal hair. About eight years ago, the internet had made me aware that some people shaved it. I decided to try shaving my scrotum. It was easy in the shower with a safety razor and my normal soap (not shave cream). Just pull the skin tight and gently shave. I loved the smoothness and lack of hair-pulling. About a year later, I let it grow for two months when I was going to have a digital rectal exam. I didn't want the doc to think I was weird. I couldn't wait to get rid of it again, and I've been shaving it about every other day since. I'm sure the doc sees shaving and trimming all the time now.

At various times, I also experimented with shaving all over down there--not just my scrotum. I don't really care for it very much. The stubble is widkedly uncomfortable. Now, I trim all pubic hair to about a half-inch and shave my scrotum, perineum, and penile shaft (which has hairs especially on the sides about a third of the way).

For the current trend in trimmed and shaved pubes, I credit the internet and the widespread use of condoms. It's easy to roll pubes into a condom upon removal, and that's a problem, especially for guys with hairy shafts.

I had to shave AND wax once for professional reasons. *shudder* never again. I do occasionally trim the most annoying bits back when I can be bothered, but these days I'm so lazy it rarely gets done.

Now just what kind of profssional reasons? Hmmmm!!!

Unless you are a caveman of course you remove hair from your body O_O .. well at least I trim and once ina while shave. Not to mention that less hair is better for reasons of pubic lices or something lol

ug.

I used to have to remove damn near all of my body hair. That was when I was dancing. Now ... i'm lucky if I have the time and inclination to shave my balls. *LOL*

I'm one of the ones who now get to say "In My DAY".
I was in high school in the first part of the 1980s.

Now, being a "boy" and "boyish" is in.
IN MY DAY, it was "man" not "boy".
So, the guys with chest hair and hairiness were "in" and "attractive".

Today, it is the complete opposite.
I always cursed my naturally smooth chest....but hey...i'm finally "in"....for now.
But the tide is bound to turn again.

Because of my age, i consider hairy both manly and totally hot.

Okies. I'll keep that mind.

I should really invest time in finding a throng of hot submissive men to take care of my every need.

Hmmm.

I have noticed the trend moving towards natural pubic hair over the past year or so. I'm seeing many more younger men with bushy pubes. Also, I've seen a website with nude photos of celebrities and almost all of them have natural, untrimmed pubic hairs. Here is just a few of the famous men who have shown their pubes in movies or by unauthorized photos snapped without their knowledge:

Peter Sarsgaard
Luke Perry
Jude Law
Heath Ledger
Ewan McGregor
DW Moffett
Viggo Mortensen
Vincent Perez
Prince Andrew
Ralph Fiennes
Dermot Mulroney
Jonathan Penner
Kurt Russell
Brad Pitt
Frank Grillo
Simon Rex

Finally, men are beginning to again realize the beauty and masculinity of their pubes in their natural state.

Its not about looking like a 10 year old. I just like the smooth clean feeling!
[post=323341]Quoted post[/post]

I love that feeling too. Not to mention your able to feel your skin without that extra layer of hair.
