    Can you guys do an 'evolution of CGI' series? Each episode talking about where a company started, their progress, and where they are now. An example that comes to mind would be DreamWorks animation, with the release of The Wild Robot, and how much they've changed from Shrek.

      Along the same lines, I'd love if they reacted to 70s graphics sometime. Go dig up commercials and corporate videos from the CG stone age, from companies like MAGI and Abel & Associates. Or early-80s car adverts that inspired the vaporwave movement. That sort of thing. There are old demo reels online, so they aren't hard to find.

      @kingcosworth2643 i was more thinking about all the vfx that went into it. You could see both Jordan and Wren being flabbergasted about the work that is put in, just to not have a human character. The length they went to with new techniques and pure effort. So I rather looked at the technical side and their reactions than the praise

    I know most of the comments won't mention it, but you guys have become so good with your interview style. So many of your questions are things you likely know and understand just fine, but the way you ask and probe makes a very conplicated technology and skillset understandable to someone with no experience or knowledge of animation and cg effects.

    • @ToBeIsWasWere
      @ToBeIsWasWere 2 месяца назад +1

      Not to be a downer but if you actually want to make a film with high-end VFX, that's cool and fine, but realistically it's very unlikely to even get close to making a big film, the costs are enormous and it is very difficult to get that funding if you aren't a household name already. It's financially super risky to give unknown directors or producers money no matter how good they are, it's just the harsh reality that it makes way more sense for them to book a well known director because the chances to make money on it are way higher, and even then it is risky. Also Hollywood is an exclusive club you can't just get access to in general.
      Just saying speaking as someone who dreamed of making movies as a kid/teen. 99% of people will at most make short films for festivals and making any money is insanely difficult.
      Corridor is very lucky to be able to make some money and as you can see even then its mainly through their commentary videos on their second channel (Patreon too, idk how much that brings in) and its not guaranteed for them to have a stable financial future. The main channel also makes short videos instead of movies and these guys are good and well connected.

    • @oenchanteddoveart6294
      @oenchanteddoveart6294 2 месяца назад

      @ with all due respect but with the way Hollywood is going I doubt it’ll last for much longer. At some point people will get fed up of the nonsense so called storytelling that the studios are pumping out and will want fresher minds. Not to sound arrogant but I’m the type of person who wants people to thrive in their areas of passion and creativity coming together to create something to blow people’s socks off. My love for filmmaking cannot be dictated by the need to please people and try to win approval, that is a terrible way to go about it. But I see what you mean.

    The way Jordan was explaining memory optimization at the end is very similar to how I try to get my students to think of scales, rhythm patterns etc in music. If you've got to individually process every note, it's really hard, but if you can look at a lick and find the patterns you've played thousands of times before, it drastically reduces the number of bits of information you have to think about and makes it so much easier to play.

      I've been too busy to post my review, but honestly, I think making this about Robbie Williams did the film a disservice. Like Corridor Crew pointed out, the VFX are insanely good, but using RW as the source material boxed them in. It limited where they could take the story and what songs they could use. None of his songs are catchy enough to be big show tunes, which is exactly why the world doesn’t really know him. I still recommend seeing it for the visual experience the director and DP created :)
